May 27th Memo:
Good morning families,
As per a press release issued on Monday, May 25th, The Honourable Brian Warr, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, announced that school will conclude for students on Friday, June 5th. In this regard our final Community Connections will be next week, June 1st to 5th. Throughout the remainder of June, our teachers will be engaging in professional learning, preparing final report cards, completing transition plans and focusing on critical tasks in preparation for the 2020-2021 school year.
We are grateful for our supportive community. You have all helped us work through this moment in our history that certainly has been trying to say the least. The outpouring of kindness and support for our Elizabeth Park Elementary staff has been overwhelming. We still find ourselves in uncertainty as we look to September, but be assured we will continue to keep everyone fully informed and supported as best as we can.
Here are a few tidbits of information that you will need for the coming weeks:
Mr. Aikens will be in contact with families who have received technology.
We ask that families safely store all library books. These will be collected when students return to school.
As in previous weeks, teaching staff are still available through email communication should you need to contact them.
Once again, many thanks for your continued support,
Elizabeth Churchill / Principal / elizabethchurchill@nlesd.ca
Donna Howse Winsor / Assistant Principal / donnahowsewinsor@nlesd.ca

Good afternoon families,
The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District is launching a resource to assist and guide families with continued learning opportunities while in-school instruction remains suspended. The resource, Learning at Home: Good at Learning-Good at Life (http://learningathome.nlesd.ca) is a Google site. This site will provide opportunities to foster a passion for learning through engaging online and offline adventures and activities. Families can also access this resource directly from the main District website at www.nlesd.ca.
Our Elizabeth Park Elementary staff is currently reviewing this resource and thinking about how it can support your child’s learning at home. Be assured, we recognize that not all families have the same access to online resources.
Communication will be forthcoming from your child’s teacher regarding learning at home. As we have previously indicated, our focus is on maintaining, and even strengthening, the wonderful relationships that exist between your home and our school.
We will be in touch soon,
Elizabeth Churchill, Principal and Donna Howse Winsor, Assistant Principal
March 22: Urgent Message! Updated 8:14pm: School access prohibited
